Three Lord of the Rings stories

I got a little carried away, and wrote 3 stories for the January potluck challenge on the LOTR Community Challenges LJ. Here they are:

Garnet and Gold.

"Long after the end of the Fourth Age, a unique treasure is uncovered in what was once the Shire. This is the story of some of those who owned it, and why they cherished it, and how they passed it on."

5140 words, rated PG. Although the first two scenes feature original characters, the bulk of the story is about major characters from the Lord of the Rings.

An Oath Fulfilled

"Lost in the darkness, the Dead have waited three thousand years for the Heir of Isildur to come them, and now he is come. He is come."

2230 words, rated PG. The challenge was to write a gap-filler for one of the entries in The Tale of Years for March 3019. I took Aragorn entering the Paths of the Dead, and wrote an alternative viewpoint of the events we hear about in the book.

Of Spices and Stewed Goat

"Faramir receives an unexpected visitor in the wilds of Ithilien, leading to an afternoon of wine, cooking and memories."

4020 words (excluding recipe), rated PG. The challenge was to write a story incorporating a recipe for stew. The recipe is at the end.
