My AU come to life!

Oh! Oh! Why didn't I discover this earlier? There really was a real John Sheppard alive in 1721 - a rogue and a criminal, famous for performing incredibly daring escapes from various prisons. Daniel Defoe, no less, wrote about him. This fills me with enormous delight. Of course he's not my John Sheppard, but I have a huge grin on my face at this lovely conjunction of real life and my own imaginings. My Captain Sheppard had one of Defoe's books in his cabin, and I'm using another of his books quite heavily as research for the sequel I'm now about three quarters of the way through.

In totally different news, how on earth am I supposed to choose three favourites and two least favourites out of the latest challenges responses on sgahcchallenges? I think it's impossible to write an outsider viewpoint story that I don't like.
