We never have snow where I live - never. This is one of the defining certainties of the universe. Even when it's snowing beautifully on the mainland just a few miles away, we stay stubbornly snowless. It's something to do with the warming effects of the sea, or something. Anyway, today I woke to whiteness everywhere. Next door's children were outside, joyously playing in the first snow they'd seen in their lives. The adults two doors away from us went out for a walk down to the beach with their camera.
As for me? Barely pausing to put my clothes on, I grabbed my action figures, and proceeded to photograph them struggling heroically through snow, and fading from the cold. Yes, it was the first snow I've seen in the 14 years I've been living here, and I don't take one single picture that I dare show to normal people, and I barely looked up from ground level.
I think this means that there is something very wrong with me, and that I should Seek Help.
